Police are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle crash in Niton Undercliff this morning (Saturday), which has left an elderly male in a serious condition.
Emergency services were called to St Catherine’s Road shortly before 06:00, as previously reported by Island Echo, following reports of a grey Citroen C3 colliding with 2 parked vehicles.
The Citroen overturned into the incident, but the occupant had got out of the vehicle by the time fire crews arrived.
The driver, an 89-year-old man, has been admitted to St Mary’s Hospital where he currently remains in a serious condition.
No one was else was injured in the early morning incident.
Officers investigating the collision are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw the grey Citroen C3 beforehand in the area.
