The Isle of Wight has been named as the top place to go for couples looking for a summer staycation, a study has revealed. National chain camping shop GO Outdoors compiled the study, ranking the Island at the top of the list scoring a whopping 9.67 out of 10. It was also revealed that a total of 15.7% of Island activities are suitable for couples as are the 16.7% of romantic restaurants. The survey showed the Island has the 3rd highest average annual temperature after London (12.1) and Newquay (11.4) and that the average hotel price is the 2nd cheapest at £85 per night. Amongst the dataset, it was also discovered that the Island is the 14th-best overall holiday spot and the 7th best spot for families.

I don’t believe it.
Ferries are the most expensive in the world.
Parking fees are scandalous, where else in the country
do you have to pay a nightly charge of £2 to park a vehicle
Even London don’t charge to park overnight.
50p to use Toilets in Sandown.
Sandown is full of drunks and druggies and it looks like it
was blitzed overnight and no one as cleared up the mess.
Well said…. totally agree
If only I didn’t need to remortgage my home to buy a ferry ticket.
It’s not a proper ‘study’ if it doesn’t mention the price of the ferries. Complete whitewash if the most important factor isn’t included.
What a load of rubbish.
I wonder what holidaymakers think of the
Derelict Hotels in Sandown, many of them are
constantly being set fire to, also there are no seaside lights
on this year in Shanklin.
Excessive toilet charges etc etc
Devon, Dorset or Cornwall are much better options.
