4 jet skies were stolen from a sailing club in Yaverland during the early hours of yesterday morning (Monday) – the second such theft in the past few weeks.
Police have been alerted to the incident, which occurred at Yaverland Sailing and Boat Club off Culver Parade/Yaverland Road between midnight and 03:30 on 7th September.
CCTV has captured 3 males using bolt cutters to gain access to the club’s compound via a fence The trio, over a period of around 2-3 hours, dragged each jet ski and trailer through the fencing and into the car park to be towed away.
Attempts were made to remove other skis too with a number of chains cut.
The 4 stolen jet skis, which have a joint value of somewhere in the region of £30,000, are listed as:
• 1x Seadoo Spark 90hp – 2 up in Orange,
• 1x Seadoo Spark 90hp – 3 up in Bubblegum (Pink)
• 1x Seadoo Spark 90hp – 2 up Green
• 1x Seadoo Spark 90hp – 2 up Grey/Black
Around 8 weeks ago another 2 jet skis were stolen from the same location.

Oh well if it stops the dangerous jet ski riding that occurs in the Bay Area – not such a bad thing!

It’s the folks that drive them not the machines that are dangerous…I’ve rescued a few folks who have got into trouble in the bay on my ski, one of which was a swimmer. Not to mention the amount of plastic we have retrieved and properly disposed of…Too many hateful, resentful and bitter people on here..Let hope it’s not one of your loved ones that needs assistance if they are unfortunate enough to get into difficulty…

Perhaps the zoo would allow storage in the Tiger pen for a fee, granite walls and claws great security.
Once the council ruin the area soon with mass building over Brown’s etc, expect more crime and misery for the locals only the developers will be tickled Pink about such development potential, and those wishing to expand their existing Ryde seaside trade no doubt earmarking a site already, being in-the-know.

3 males were caught in the act trying to steal kayaks from Wight cliff Bay at 9pm last night, before running off, , and the flare that was let off was probably from the 3 missing jet ski’s,
Good cameras maybe, why not get a PIR siren or two installed as well. the noise may get curtains moving.. more eyes on the scene the better. Can you not get an auto dialler, to dial for police when movement detected.. ? Obvious be a while for them to arrive.. but who knows.. !!
