A crash involving 3 vehicles is causing significant disruption on the main road into East Cowes this afternoon (Thursday).
The collision on Whippingham Road has seen a Skoda and Mazda collide with another opposite the junction with Folly Lane. The airbags in the Skoda Fabia estate have deployed such was the impact of the collision.
Police are on scene directing traffic, whilst paramedics are tending to those involved.
The initial 999 call was made at around 15:45.
Traffic in the area is extremely busy as a result of emergency closure of the nearby Alverstone Road for urgent Southern Water repairs.
Southern Vectis Route 4 & 5 buses are experiencing delays.
UPDATE @ 16:30 – Police have confirmed that only minor injuries have been reported.
Traffic is currently backed up along Fairlee Road
