Fire crews from Ryde, Sandown and Shanklin are in attendance at Napoleon’s Landing in Sandown this evening (Sunday) where a fire alarm has been activated.
Firefighters were mobilised to the Island’s tallest building on the Esplanade at just before 17:25 following the activation of the residential building’s alarm system.
There are no signs of fire but crews are carrying out a through search.
Meanwhile, in Ryde, an appliance from out of town has responded to a small incident in School Street, Oakfield.

Hope they have no hurt people.
School Street! Not another joint being inhaled….
Why do you always assume the worst? There could of been a fire for all you know and you just go assume things.
Have I hit a nerve??
Napoleon’s Landing?! Quick, tell Lord Palmerston!
And send for Captain Hornblower!
