29-year-old Ronnie Morris has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after allegedly shooting a man in the eye with a BB gun earlier this week.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were called at 23:34 on Tuesday night (26th September) to reports that a man had been assaulted at an address on Union Road, during which he was shot in the eye with a BB gun pellet.
He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Now, after carrying out forensic investigations at the scene throughout yesterday, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that 29-year-old Ronnie Morris, of Josephs Way in Shanklin, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court later today (Thursday).
A 46-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with this incident has been bailed with conditions until 27th December.

Shooting someone in the eye with a BB gun is just pure evil. Lock this scum bag up. Community service would be a joke!
He is clearly not safe to be on the streets , what a dangerous individual. He clearly has no perception of how devastating that violent act could have been.
Old bill are too soft.
Rip his teeth out.
Employ sadists like me, I’d love it
Have you considered dentistry
hahahahahaha
Don’t blame the Old Bill. It’s the law, the Magistrates and the judges who hand out the so called ‘sentences’ to these scum bags, not the Police. I agree, way too soft on law breakers these days. No deterrent whatsoever.
Joseph’s way what a surprise?
It should be called Satan’s way, I feel for the good people that have to live with lowlife like Ronnie Morris….borne evil, die evil….
His whole family were and are a bunch of losers
Chill out Karen x
