A 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage following an incident in Shanklin last week (Thursday) has been released from custody without charged, Police have confirmed.
It was just before 18:00 on 3rd April that Police were called to a domestic-related incident on the High Street, at the junction with Palmerston Road, as first reported by Island Echo.
Some 2 hours later, officers cordoned off the area whilst officers continued to speak to the individual. A Tactical Advisor from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was called in to assist
At just before 20:45, the willingly came down from his position and was subsequently arrested in Yarborough Arcade.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed today (Wednesday) that the 29-year-old has been released from custody without charge.
