26-year-old Jack Taylor has been remanded in custody on a charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident at a flat in Newport last week.
Police were called to an address on the corner of West Street at just before 20:00 on Thursday night (21st September) to reports that a male had sustained a stab injury.
2 women were chased from the property, but uninjured.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and treated a man in his 40s for injuries to his jaw and neck area, now understood to have been caused by a fork.
A flat at Nippert Court was sealed off as a crime scene with officers maintaining guard throughout Friday, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Efforts to locate the prime suspect overnight had failed, with a wanted male remaining at large as of Friday lunchtime.
Now, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that following enquiries, 26-year-old Jack Taylor, of Barton Road in Newport, has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court earlier this morning (Monday) where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 26th October.
