The Style of Wight Homes & Interiors Show was a palpable hit with exhibitors and visitors alike, as hundreds flocked to Freshwater last weekend.
East Afton Farmhouse was the venue for an event that showcased any and everything to do with the home, from architects and holiday letting and estate agents to bespoke tilers, upholsterers and bathroom fitters, right through to those finishing touches – that commissioned artwork, a special candle, a hand turned lamp or thrown ceramic.
For the exterior, there was impressive all-weather garden furniture, tabletop fire pits to quirky planters and golden dachshunds. Every part of the house, outbuildings and grounds presented an opportunity to display something gorgeous.
As the visitors poured into the courtyard they were greeted with the aroma of toasting chestnuts, and could treat themselves to coffee from the experts at Island Roasted.
Throughout the day demonstrations took place, from the tricks and tips of the perfect cup of coffee, to the creation of delicious canapés. Away from the kitchen, too, events included sewing demonstrations from The Sewing Studio and pottery masterclasses from Neil Tregear of Tregear Pottery.
The Style of Wight VIP Lounge made for particular cosseting, with indulgent canapés and delectable champagne.

“It was a great day. I can’t wait to do it again next year.”

Palpable: (of a feeling or atmosphere) so intense as to seem almost tangible
glad it went well, would have liked to go but did not see any adverts for it, where was it advertised?
