20-year-old Ryan Loveday, from Kent, has been charged with numerous child sex offences after allegedly meeting an underage girl in Ryde at the weekend.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police swooped on the Travelodge off Lind Street on Sunday afternoon (2nd February). It’s at the hotel that they arrested a man on suspicion of rape and grooming offences.
The suspect was taken into custody for questioning and forensics were called in to examine a hotel room.
Now, having been kept in custody for an extended period of time, 20-year-old Ryan Loveday, of Valetta Way in Medway, Kent has been charged with 3 offences.
He has been charged with engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13-15, engaging in non-penetrative activity with a girl aged 13-15 and attempted sexual assault by penetration of a girl 13 or over.
Loveday has been remanded in custody to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court tomorrow Wednesday).
