A 20-year-old man from Kent was arrested at the Travelodge hotel in Ryde yesterday (Sunday) on suspicion of raping a teenage girl.
Officers rushed to the budget chain hotel off Lind Street at around 16:20, where they arrested a man on suspicion of child sex offences. No fewer than 6 units responded to the scene at Lind Hill.
Earlier in the afternoon Police had been searching the local area for a girl, with members of the public asked to call 999 if they saw her.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that their suspect, a 20-year-old man from Medway in Kent, was arrested on suspicion of raping a girl aged 13-15 and meeting a girl under the age of 16 following grooming.
He remains in custody for questioning at Newport Police Station at this time.
Police say their enquiries are in the early stages and that officers are supporting and working with the alleged victim to establish the wider circumstances.
Forensic investigators are conducting on scene investigations at the Travelodge today (Monday).
UPDATE TUESDAY – 20-year-old Ryan Loveday has been charged with numerous child sex offences.

Will he get a huge prison sentence..probably not but hope something involving pain happens to him..
