Another 2 people have died from COVID-19 on the Isle of Wight, taking the total number of fatalities since the start of the pandemic to 93.
The deaths are said to have occurred at St Mary’s Hospital on Halloween – Saturday 31st October.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, 44 deaths have now taken place at the hospital where COVID is given as the cause of death. A further 45 deaths have occurred in care homes, 3 at home and 1 at Mountbatten Hospice.
After weeks of just 1 or no admissions to hospital, it has now been realised that 5 people were admitted to hospital between 22nd October and last Friday, with 2 requiring ventilation.
Latest data from the Official for National Statistics shows that there have been 654 cases of COVID-19 recorded on the Isle of Wight to date.
HMG will ensure this lockdown ends, JUST in time for the big Christmas spend. Then, like during the High holiday season, numbers will be kept quiet, to ensure as then, people aren’t too afraid to indulge in spending, and office parties etc.
Come just after the New year, when all the tills have pinged their max, suddenly the ‘true’ level of c.v cases will again be ‘surprisingly’ revealed and lock down three will begin in earnest to rinse and repeat in time for the Easter holiday spending season.
Not blaming HMG, as they have to keep all happy, just wish they were open, and honest about why they do what they do. But doubt we will ever get or have had an honest politician, for people don’t like the truth if it is painful.

Can someone explain why New Zealand has a population of 5 million and has 25 deaths from covid, yet here’s the isle of wight with 93 deaths and a population of 142.000.
The population of the UK is more realistically 75 million and travelling around as they please, Newzelands five million closed the door to most of the world, that’s why Newzeland have much lower cases.
Does anyone know if Newzelands land mas is similar to the UK?
Because our government adds usual colds and flus that are always around more at this time of year to the covid numbers to bump them up to cause more fear.Our government admitted this on October 9th.There are no more deaths this year than last year, which is odd if we are experiencing a pandemic surely there would be thousands each day like with ebola.All deaths are said to be of covid even suicide or rta and doctors get paid a lot more if they put covid on the death certificate as an incentive,again to bump up the figures and cause more fear

An interesting true fact is that there is a high percentage of virus patients in St.Mary’s who are women aged between 20-40.
