Motorists in Ryde are facing a further 2 months of travel disruption with the partial closure of Ryde High Street.
After more than 12 months of work by Southern Water in the town, stretching from East Ashey Lane to Queens Road, the decision has been taken to carry out further improvement works.
Works carried out on High Street in November last year identified an additional water main that needs replacing.
The upper section of Ryde High Street will be closed from its crossroads junction with Green Street to its junction with Well Street from Monday 7th January until Friday 15th March.
Traffic will be diverted via Green Street and West Street. Local residents and businesses will be able to gain access thanks to the revocation of the one-way traffic restriction.
