Train services between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin have been cancelled until Friday morning as staff begin 2 days of strike action.
As previously reported by Island Echo, staff are joining colleagues from across the country in industrial action over the uncertain future of the role of guards on train services.
Although no trains will be running today or tomorrow (Thursday), rail replacement buses are in operation – see timetable below.
In Ryde, Wightlink is offering customers a free bus shuttle service up and down Ryde Pier.
The Island’s MP Bob Seely has condemned the strike.
