That is such a dangerous turning. Blind spot to turn out of south ford lane I’m surprised this hasn’t happened before. Hope the casualties recover and thoughts with all concerned

This was just up from the junction but yes it’s a bugger to pull out of, you’re half way across the road to get a clear view toward Niton, like the Whitwell end, once out of the narrows cars come speeding from Godshill side, only 50yards or so to react to someone pulling out of Southford lane, then if you do get out they get right up your arse as your trying to gain speed. But without jigging the junctions slightly to improve visibility you takes that chance no matter how careful you are.

Island roads must know, so why don’t they put a mirror opposite? Or a pinch point in order to slow the maniacs down.

Liz Barton

Or just change it from national speed limit to something more reasonable like a 30 or 40

People have asked for years for a mirror to be put in, for the speed to me reduced amongst other things. The council won’t because if they do they admit that its dangerous

So they’ll wait till someone is killed either end then? Wrong on so many levels. I think there’s a tiny road sign whitwell end just showing a side road but that’s it. Something needs to be done.

No. No test can account for poor road design which that corner is. Rest in peace Gordon. You will be missed by all
