AN 18-year-old woman has this afternoon been thrown from her scooter after slipping on oil in Ryde.
The incident happened just before 16:00 on St John’s Road opposite the newly-opened Co-Operative Funeral Care.
It is believed the rider slipped on an oil patch that was in the road, loosing control of her 50cc Peugeot scooter.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service attended the scene and assessed the girl for any injuries.
The road remained blocked for a short period of time causing minor tailbacks in the area.
