Police have launched an investigation after an 18-year-old was assaulted on a bus and again in the street in Lake, resulting in the teen being hospitalised.
Officers were called at 17:40 yesterday (Monday) to reports of an assault on Sandown Road in Lake, also known as Lake High Street.
It is understood that the incident began on board the Route 8 bus, where the teenager was assaulted by a man. The situation then continued onto the street after the bus stopped.
Emergency services responded to the scene, with the 18-year-old male victim subsequently conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that enquiries are ongoing with no arrests made at this time.
