Police investigating a stabbing in Cowes on Sunday night have arrested 3 people, including a 14-year-old boy.
As previously reported by Island Echo, at around 21:00 on Sunday 8th November, a 19-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his leg when he was assaulted on a footpath linking Newport Road to Fraser Close, near to the Arctic Road junction.
The area was cordoned off as detectives launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, which has left the 19-year-old with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Now, a 27-year-old man from Ryde, a 22-year-old man from Ventnor and a 14-year-old boy from Cowes have all been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in custody at this time.
Hampshire Constabulary say they are still encouraging anyone with information about the incident to contact them on 101, quoting 44200433764. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via their anonymous online form at crimestoppers-uk.org

Absolutely senseless stupidity. Now they have to pay for it for many many years to come. What a waste of their lives. Lucky they didn’t hit the femoral artery or the lad could have bled out in seconds and they’d be looking at a murder charge. Was it really worth it.
They won’t pay for it for the rest of their lives it will be a smack on the wrist and lots of “help” for them
The liberals will ensure that, that’s for sure…
Agreed, they won’t pay a seemingly fair price in the courts. However a record like that stays with you for life. Even when spent under the rehabilitation of offenders act it will always come up on a CRB check or emigration papers. They will have to have special restricted visas to travel some places and may be refused travel to many countries. Restricting jobs and travel, lots of problems ahead.
Anyway I focus too much on the perpetrators, condolences to the victim. I wish you good health.
So, 3 on 1. Low life cowards. Hope you get what you deserve.
What was he doing with those 2 men and where were his parents for God’s sake. Surely this is neglect by the parents
In what way Is this the parents fault? You do realise this is not the 50’s, kids get mixed up in the wrong crowds all the time, the parents probably had no idea he was hanging out with adults, and I’m sick of people blaming the parents on everything, he’s 14, old enough to go out with friends… and this also applies to the 43 people who likes this ridiculous statement… fireback with what you like I won’t be responding just thought it needed to be said, have a good evening.
14 year old child. What the hell is going on. Where are the boys parents? Whoever you are you need to step up and start sorting your child out. Disgusting. Not much of a future for this boy really.
Prepare your children for many many more of this ‘type’ here each year now, as 1,000 plus houses are built here endorsed by our greedy council, who are ‘paid’ by the current council of these cretins from inner cites who will fill many of these new homes.
Watch and see, or check for yourself IF councils receive payments from others to house their tenants if in doubt.
Too late once it happens. Vote this lot out next time around.
Inner cities ? Doesn’t it say they are all from the island ?
Jon, the next wave will be from inner cities as our council are paid by such to take on their overspill. Naturally they will rid themselves of the worst tenants if they can.
Whilst these cretins live here, our cat if giving birth in a kennel, would have ‘kittens’ still, not pups. SEE how long they have been here.
The council do not get paid for people from other councils to come here. Total nonsense.
Total nonsense is rife in the comments here. Let them stew in their own stupidity.
What do you mean they will have to pay for many years for what they have done, get real.
They will end up with a suspended sentence and continue a life of crime and destroy innocent peoples lives.
Dead right Ron. So many naive people on here who still think these people who do such things live to regret it.
They will be fined, suspended sentence, they if jailed will be given help to find work, a home, funded, first to be treated in hospital etc.
There future was and still is crime, breeding, gaining a free home, funded by the numerous equally vile clones they produce, THAT hasn’t and won’t change, as they will be at the ‘top’ of the points list as seen as vulnerable so showered with ever ‘more’ by society, thinking that to ‘give more’ will make them nice, or decent, but it won’t.
They see it as weakness to be exploited still further, and will. Watch and learn all those who think differently ( or likely don’t think at all)
What kind of toilets were these so called people dragged up in? The forteen year old has already been conditiond too carry on his conditiond mindset into his generation.
Sadly there are many many more just like them, this mind bending liberal world that we now live in will continue to produce many more.
No doubt drugs are involved in this
3 on 1? Cowards.
Next time, the victim and his mates will be tempted to then carry a knife for self protection, so it all escalates. See which ‘group’ started this and as more arrive here, then watch this crime become common place within a decade as our greedy council encourage them to our shores by building over our countryside.
Vote them out.
Wait until that ‘lot’ who are well practiced with knives and guns, take residence in the huge building to cover beauty with ugliness here.
Vote this council out. Ruination of this Island for their greed.
14 year old ! Country lines?
I think you mean County Lines. The mainland is made up of many counties, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Staffordshire…….etc etc. The drug dealers cross over into different counties to sell their crap.
Why are people from the mainland always to blame in such situations?
My boys were born in London but would never commit such a crime. I think you lot need educating as to learn that where you are from has nothing to do with it, it is all about raising your children correctly and not dragging them up. I was also born and raised in a very rough part of London but can be proud in saying I do not have a criminal record.
Agreed!! I get sick of silly comments on here directing insults at ‘overners’. I’m an Islander (almost – as came here aged 2). Have left several times, travelled and worked the world but find myself here back again!! And love it. But do feel embarrassed at times by the mentality of it here!!
