An 11-year-old lad from the Isle of Wight will be starring in Channel 4’s Junior Bake Off when the latest series airs in the New Year. Leo is 1 of 16 talented bakers, aged between 9 and 12, to be taking part in the competition. The Islander, who lives at home with his mum, dad and 2 older brothers, really enjoys baking and growing herbs in the garden, when he is not playing cricket, football or basketball! He was encouraged to apply for the show earlier in the year by his grandmother. His baking has been inspired by his family and Leo likes to use flavours such as cinnamon, chocolate and peppermint. His strengths lay with cakes, bread and cinnamon rolls, with his favourite bake being a classic Victoria Sponge. Episode 1 of Junior Bake Off will air on Tuesday 2nd January 2024 at 17:00 on Channel 4. Harry Hill oversees proceedings with his characteristic wit and warmth, alongside seasoned judges Liam Charles and Ravneet Gill.
