11-year-old Jess Burfitt has been selected for the Team England dance group that will be heading to the Dance World Cup in 2024. Sselected for the England team from over 100 entries, Jess, who lives in Shanklin, has been training at MLD Studio in Ryde since she was just 2 years old and regularly competes regionally and nationally with great success. Now, the junior dancer has been selected from more than 100 entires to represent her country as a soloist at the global competition next year. The Dance World Cup will be taking place in Prague next June. 2023 has been Jess’ most busy and successful competitive year to date, with support from Red Funnel – as a junior ambassador – meaning she has been able to attend even more mainland qualifiers and competitions, bringing home plenty of silverware. Jess has said:
“I am so excited to represent England at the Dance World Cup, I never imagined I would qualify this is a dream come true. “I am so grateful to Michelle at MLD Studio for all the time and opportunities she has given me over the years, to my parents for supporting me and to Red Funnel as my travel sponsor.”
