Primary school pupil Drew Newton bagged a 1st place finish at the 2024 Portsmouth Music Festival last week. Competing in the Vocal & Musical Theatre category, Drew – a student at Wroxall Primary School – came 1st in the Classical Solo age 12 and under category in the event held at the Portsmouth Central Library over the weekend. The 11-year-old also gained a commendation mark from adjudicator Sarah Jefferies LRAM ARCM and won the Devonshire Cup. She was also awarded a Distinction in the Musical 8-12 years category.
