A donation of £1000 will be sent to the Earthquake Disaster Appeal thanks to a local choir and their guests.
The concert, in which Newchurch Male Voice Choir and guests ‘Double Take’ performed, was held on Sunday 5th March at All Saints Church, Ryde.
A raffle was also held on the night with prizes donated from Appley Manor, Yelf’s Hotel and Mandy Meadows Photography.
Bob Cooper said:
“What a fantastic response to such a drastic need. Although it is over a month since the earthquakes the news has been overtaken, so I thought we needed to show some of the Island’s ‘togetherness’, understanding and support for all of the extreme hardships of those thousands of souls affected, and for all those people who are trying to bring life back to the communities and the Countries.
“I wanted every penny donated to go to the Appeal and I, therefore, thank All Saint’s Church for the donation of the Church for the concert, to Appley Manor, Yelf’s Hotel and Mandy Meadows Photography for the main raffle prize’s and the support of the Choir members and our helpers and to ‘Double Take'”
