The GB Young Lions speedway riders have headed back to the mainland following a successful 3-day pre-season training camp at Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde.
Welcomed to the Isle of Wight by the Wightlink Warriors’ management, the Young Lions have utilised the Island’s speedway track – one of the biggest in the country – to enhance their skills ahead of the upcoming season.
Both on and off the track the Young Lions were under the watchful eyes of Steve Worrall and Paul Hurry, as well as GB Young Lions boss Neil Vatcher.
Wednesday saw the heavens open slightly, giving a variety of track conditions for the riders on Thursday, aiding their education.
Barry Bishop, the Wightlink Warriors’ commercial director said:
“Having the fortune of two completely different track conditions plus a day of real off track education including cardiovascular, nutrition, media, social media and bike setups, all the Young Lions should be as best prepared for the season they can be”.
