Mystery has been sparked by a plane that has been spotted in a rather unusual location near to Sandown Airport.
The vast majority of planes and pilots who frequent the UK’s most popular airfield land and park without incident, however, 1 unlucky pilot has seemingly failed to do so, with their plane being left nestled in some bushes.
The aircraft has been in situ for a number of weeks following what an airport spokesperson called an ‘incident’ – with others suggesting that the aircraft overshot the runway, landing in the field on the opposite side of Scotchells Brook Lane.
It’s not yet known if and when the plane will be recovered from its new and slightly unorthodox parking place.
UPDATE – It’s understood the plane ran off the end of the runway when the pilot landed too long to stop. This resulted in damage to the nose wheel.
No one was injured in the incident and the aircraft is awaiting recovery.

Now it is made public, one expects the bored local charming youth will soon have this ablaze
Well done you bigot. Blame the youth for everything. Most of the time it’s drunk 50 somethings causing all the damage on the way home, pissed up.
Errrrrrm because it usually is. Can’t walk in to a shop under the age of 30 without being under suspicion. If I spot a pensioner parking there zimmer illegally I will let you know however.
Has anyone run a sniffer dog over it yet ?
