A yellow weather warning for strong winds across the Isle of Wight will come into force on Wednesday night.
IW Met Service says that a spell of very strong southwesterly winds will develop as we move through the second half of Wednesday and into Thursday morning.
Gusts of 55-60mph will be fairly widespread with gusts closer to 70mph can be expected around exposed coastal locations and over hills in more southern and west parts of the Island.
Travel and transport may well be affected, especially cross-Solent travel.
The warning will be in force from 22:00 on Wednesday until 11:00 Thursday morning.
