Yarmouth RNLI’s senior station technician Richard Pimm and lifeboat press officer Hebe Gregory won’t be forgetting their wedding anniversary any time soon, as they tied the knot on 1st July – with the date representing the numbers on the side of Yarmouth’s lifeboat – 17-25.
Richard and Hebe spent the morning of 01/07/25 celebrating their love in a small ceremony at Northwood House in Cowes. They then visited Richard’s ‘first love’ – the Severn class lifeboat based out of Yarmouth.
Hebe said:
“The date of our wedding ceremony was chosen because it’s the numbers on the side of Richard’s one true love, he now doesn’t have the excuse of EVER forgetting our anniversary. It was originally a joke made between the crew after a routine practice one evening that then became a reality!”
Hebe and Richard have been together since 2013 after first meeting on the school bus years before, and then got engaged in 2014.
Richard has worked full-time for the RNLI for a decade, but has been on the crew for 18 years, since the age of 17.
His family have a close connection with the station, with Richard even being christened on Yarmouth’s previous lifeboat, the Joy and John Wade 52-08 Arrun Class.
Hebe has worked full-time for the RNLI since May 2024, volunteering as a press officer since 2023, and is currently in training to be one of Yarmouth’s launch authorities.

“Rich is the full time Senior Station Technician and Afloat Mechanic for our Severn ALB, and is a third-generation crew member with his grandfather, father and brother all serving on the Yarmouth ALB.
“Hebe is our press officer and also works full time in the RNLI’s Regional Business Support Team.
“All of Yarmouth’s One Crew wish Rich and Hebe a long and happy life together”.
