The volunteer crew of Yarmouth RNLI lifeboat have recovered a dinghy off Bouldnor this evening (Sunday).
Solent Coastguard requested the launch of the All Weather Lifeboat at 18:14 to assist The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team in recovering the 12ft vessel, which had washed ashore.
The Coastguard Team were originally tasked to the area to investigate the sighting of a vessel ashore. A shoreline search was carried out with success, but with an incoming tide the request was made for backup from Yarmouth RNLI to ensure the safety of team members.
Within an hour the lifeboat had returned to station at Yarmouth Harbour with the dinghy and 2 Coastguard Officers.
