Bembridge RNLI Lifeboat launched to the aid of a yacht in trouble in the Solent this afternoon (Sunday).
The Tamar class All Weather Lifeboat was launched at the request of Solent Coastguard at around 14:10 to assist ‘Wanderer’, a 40ft sailing yacht with 3 crew onboard that had lost the top section of her mast and had a fouled prop.
Having located the Wanderer near to No Mans Land Fort, she was put under tow to Gosport Marina.
Once she was safely alongside, the Alfred Albert Williams returned to Bembridge and was re-housed by 16:30.
No one was injured in the incident.
