UPDATED: A yacht has run aground and is listing to one side off Ryde this afternoon (Friday).
Ryde Inshore Rescue were tasked to the incident at 15:20 after the yacht, with at least 9 crew members on board, run aground with a falling tide.
The volunteer lifeboat organisation has sent a tractor unit across the sands to rendezvous with the vessel.
No one appears to have been injured.
The casualty vessel and crew will now have to wait for the tide to turn before the yacht can be refloated.
UPDATE @ 16:00 – Ryde Rescue 2 lifeboat has now been towed to the far end of the sand and is standing by with 2 crew, who are assisting to lay an anchor.
