A tree has come down across the main road through Wroxall tonight (Sunday).
The debris has fallen on St John’s Road, close to Appuldurcombe Road.
Island Roads have been informed of the obstruction and will be sending contractors out to clear. However, it’s understood work to clear the tree is already underway by local residents.
Southern Vectis says Route 3 buses from Ventnor to Ryde have been delayed by approximately 25 minutes and will be diverting locally via Whitwell. Stops in Godshill and Upper Ventnor are not being served.
Motorists should divert via Shanklin Old Village or Whitwell
UPDATE @ 23:20 – The fallen tree at Wroxall has now been cleared. The road has now reopened and Southern Vectis’ Route 3 buses have now returned to their normal line of route.
Well done all involved. Not a nice night to have that job so much appreciated.
Must have been a young inexperienced tree jumping out into the road when there wasn’t a car coming
