The damage and disruption caused by Storm Ciaran has been captured by Island Echo’s reporters, with torrential downpours and severe gales having left the Isle of Wight battered and bruised. Overnight the storm moved in from the West, bringing with it significant winds and rainfall. Most of the damage has been on the coast, including at Sandown where beach huts have been forced back by the waves. Flooding has been seen on the Island’s roads too – especially as the surrounding fields are already very saturated ground from last week’s torrential weather.
