2-time World Rally Champion Miki Biasion will be competing at the Island Car Centre Sandown Sprint on 2nd and 3rd April 2022, it has been announced.
Biasion will be driving one of the 100 cars that are entered to compete on the Isle of Wight; the first event of its kind on closed public roads for more than 60 years.
Miki’s entry has been made possible by Chichester-based rally car experts Rally Replay, who will be supplying a Group A Lancia Delta Integrale 16V which was restored in collaboration with Biasion to be an exact replica of his 1989 Sanremo winning car.
Miki Biasion has partnered with Rally Replay to assist with the sourcing, restoration and sales of former ex-works rally cars. In particular, those with a stellar history within the World Rally Championship.
General Manager of Rally Replay, Adam Midghall, has commented:
“It’s a great pleasure to be able to bring a two-time world rally champion to the first running of the Sandown Sprint and to showcase what made Biasion and the Lancia Delta Integrale so iconic and unbeatable.”
Event promoter Tim Addison says:
“Welcoming Miki Biasion to the Sprint is a real treat. We are very grateful to Rally Replay for making this happen. It will be quite a thrill for all the competitors to have a rally legend on the same track.
“We have an amazing entry of cars to keep Miki company. Classic cars represented include MG, Jaguar, Morgan and Austin Healey, which will be mixing it with more contemporary models from Lotus, Porsche and Alfa Romeo. Rally enthusiasts will be delighted that Miki’s Lancia will be competing with cars from Subaru, Mitsubishi, Audi and Ford.”
A limited number of tickets are available to purchase online for the event. Head over to www.isleofwightspeedtrials.co.uk.
