Restoration work has begun on timber groynes at Lake Cliffs and Colwell Bay as part of a major Isle of Wight Council project to strengthen coastal defences.
Over the coming months, 10 groynes between Small Hope Beach and Littlestairs Steps at Lake Cliffs, and a further 6 at Colwell Bay, will be refurbished.
The work is designed to help build up beach material, protect nearby properties and businesses, and improve both safety and appearance.
An Island-based contractor is carrying out the project, with disruption expected to be minimal. The council has said there may be occasional movements of plant and vehicles while the work takes place.
The completion date will be weather dependent, but updates will be provided as the project progresses.
