2 people are in custody after a woman was allegedly held against her will and stabbed in Cowes early this morning (Wednesday).
Police were called shortly before 06:30 after a 27-year-old woman was assaulted at an address on Pallance Road in the Northwood area.
The woman was taken to hospital to be treated for a stab wound to her arm and bruising. Thankfully, her injuries are not serious or life-threatening.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are investigating claims that the woman was held against her will.
A 26-year-old man from Cowes has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
A 29-year-old woman from Cowes has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment.
Both remain in custody at this time.
UPDATE ON THURSDAY – Both of those that were arrested have been released on conditional bail until 26th October pending further enquiries.

Of course there is no MP who dare say PUBLICLY so, nor any Police or Prison staff, but ask them if you know any personally and the story will be very different.
So never again can and will sentences that really shock the next potential criminal be given in the UK unless we stop importing and start heavily deporting the worlds low life.

Judges, as you should know if you have an ounce of intelligence, make those decisions, based on government (MOJ) guidance.
Try posting with facts and not hate-filled nonsense.
And the Government MOJ ‘guidance ‘ will take into account the overflowing prisons and guidelines will dictate the duration of sentences given.
Try seeing the REAL problems and what causes such and try to understand that no one in authority can ever speak the truth and reason now, hence, as you do blame everything and anything but.

Wilbur, I drove down Pallance rd just after it had all been dealt with and I saw a young lad in cuffs. He didn’t look to be anything ‘ethnic’. More likely white British. Maybe his immigrant heritage got the better of him? Those Vikings, Saxons and Normans were a proper wild bunch. We should never have let them in!

Messages need to be sent to violent people before the Island and indeed country sinks into a lawless ghetto.
It should be a mandatory full 10 year sentence for illegally carrying a “bladed weapon” or any other weapon then a 20 year full term sentence if they injure anyone with it and there should be no chance of parole and the sentences should be consecutive and not the pathetic concurrent sentences currently handed out, there should be no age limit either as if they are old enough to do the crime they are old enough to do the time.
Capital punishment also needs to be brought back for murder.
When I was a child there wasn’t anything here for people to move over to the Island for unless you wanted to retire We didn’t even have a supermarket Now it attracts all the dross from the mainland as well as the decent people. I’d still rather live here though

Sorry, but there were tons of things for young people to do in the 70s and 80s. Loads of pubs and clubs and a buzzing (if somewhat shabby) nightlife.

Why? Because our prisons are SO full of the worlds imported criminals now we have unchecked masse immigration for years, that there is NO ROOM for any but the very worst to be jailed now.
Courts can’t give meaningful sentences, so criminals know they can do as they please with little chance of jail and even smaller chance of getting a stiff sentence.
So more and more ignore laws from trivial upward as they know unless murder, then they will only get a small sentence at worst, or a fine they won’t pay, as we will via their benefits.
SEE the reason WHY, it is NOT coincidence since high numbers fill the UK law has broken down. Can’t fit a gallon into a pint pot.
Foreign prisoners make up 12% of the prison population and has been on a downward trend since 2013.
Our prisons are mostly filled with British criminals and each one costs a fortune to keep. You up all the sentences and who is going to pay for it? Taxpayer will have to foot the bill, so does that mean higher taxes? Or what other funded services can cope with a funding cut? The NHS?
It is a real problem as there is no real deterrent, but unfortunately there is no easy solution.

WTF is going on. Crime on the island is increasing at a worrying rate. There are some real bat sh*t crazy mother fuc*ers here now.
Crime on the island is relatively low compared to elsewhere and amplified in the reporting. If a car or a pair of socks is stolen in an area without much to report, it makes news. There is no doubt, however, that crime, like bad driving, has increased due to lack of proactive deterrent here. And it will remain so until someone well connected is killed or injured and the handshake brigade decide to take action.
