A woman in her 50s has sadly died after collapsing in the street in Ventnor yesterday evening (Wednesday).
Police and paramedics were called to Albert Street in the town at 19:39 following reports that an individual had collapsed between Market Street and Pound Lane.
First responders rushed to the scene and carried out CPR on the woman, who was in cardiac arrest.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the individual was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at St Mary’s Hospital.
Police say the incident is being treated as a medical episode with no third party involvement.
The road was blocked for a time.
always makes me wonder why they quote a rough age range for the person. Surely it is irrelevant and need not be stated.
If you haven’t been able to contact a family member or friend,if they are not in that age range then you don’t worry that it might be them. So,it isn’t irrelevant.
So so sad, thoughts are with her family and friends xx
Rest in peace dear…..
Gosh, what an absolute shock to all her family and friends.
So sad, especially at this time of year.
