The Met Office are warning of strong winds across the country, including on the Isle of Wight, between 09:00 tomorrow (Wednesday) and 07:00 on Thursday.
Gales are expected to move east across England and Wales during Wednesday with the strongest winds finally easing from the South East around dawn on Thursday.
65 to 70mph gusts are expected along exposed coasts and over high ground, with gusts of 50mph likely more widely.
Islanders are being warned of delays to Cross-Solent ferry transport.
Outbreaks of rain, occasionally heavy, will add to the difficult travel conditions.
