A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued by the Met Office, indicating possible disruption to cross-Solent travel tomorrow (Tuesday).
Southwesterly winds will gust to over 50 mph at times in parts of southern England (including the Isle of Wight) and to 60 mph in some exposed coastal sites.
Islanders are being warned about the potential for gusts to cause minor damage to trees and make travel tricky for the likes of towing vehicles.
The yellow ‘be aware’ warning is in place from 09:00 until 19:00.
