UPDATED: Whitehouse Road on the outskirts of Newport has been closed in both directions this morning (Wednesday) following a road traffic collision involving four vehicles.
Police and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are currently on the scene off Forest Road at the junction with Coleman’s Lane.
Emergency services were called to the collision at just gone 08:30.
No one has been seriously injured in the incident, however one person has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
Recovery of the vehicles – a blue Ford Focus, a grey Land Rover Discovery, an Audi and a black Vauxhall Astra – has been arranged and the road is expected to reopen shortly.
UPDATE FRIDAY: Police are now appealing for information about Wednesday’s collision.
It has been confirmed that two drivers suffered minor injuries in the incident, which resulted in one being taken to St Mary’s Hospital complaining of neck pain and the other treated at the scene for a cut hand.
