The William Coppin pub in Newport known as ‘Lloyds’ is set to close following a decision by the owner J D Wetherspoon.
The venue at the heart of the Island’s county town on Coppins Bridge is set to close as soon as a buyer is found for the premises, which operates as a Lloyds No 1 bar.
A spokesperson has confirmed the closure is a commercial decision, however no jobs will be lost with staff being offered alternative positions at sister pubs The Man in the Moon in Newport and Fowlers & Co in Ryde.
The business will continue to operate as normal until a buyer is found.
Previously the bar was Chicago Rock, which closed in 2009.
