The Isle of Wight’s hottest band, Wet Leg, have just announced a brand new single, a brand new album and a massive UK-wide tour, which includes Glastonbury, Primavera, Radio 1 Big Weekend and Green Man.
It has been confirmed this evening (Tuesday) that Wet Leg’s eagerly anticipated second album, ‘moisturizer’, will be released on 11th July.
The release of the new album comes after the 5-piece band, made up of Rhian Teasdale, Hester Chambers, Ellis Durand, Henry Holmes and Joshua Mobaraki, decamped to Southwold in March last year to write; living together, working all day and watching horror movies all night.
Alongside the album announcement, the band also share the first taste of moisturizer with its frenetic, alluringly combative lead single, ‘catch these fists’.
Kicking things off with an untameable, electrified groove from its opening seconds, catch these fists is dance-punk par excellence – bass notes ricocheting off a wall of howling synth, thunderous beats catching strays from Teasdale’s cruel deadpan.

The video, directed by the band, was shot on the Isle of Wight and nods to Ti West, Cameron Crowe and their own ‘Wet Dream’ video and is a suitably off-kilter introduction to moisturizer valley.
Island Echo readers will not have escaped the buzz around Wet Leg, who shot to stardom with their first album achieving Number 1 chart placements at home and abroad, 3 Grammys, 2 Brits and over half a billion streams.
Of the new album, Chambers says:
“We were just kind of having fun and exploring”.
Teasdale adds:
“We focussed on: Is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together”.
If that’s not all, it has also been announced that Wet Leg will be hitting the road across the UK.
Tickets for the band’s May 2025 UK headline tour will be on pre-sale from next Wednesday (9th April) at 10:00. General sale is from Friday 11th April at 10:00. Those who pre-order the new album will get access to the first pre-sale.
