Celebrating the Garden’s 50th anniversary, the team at Ventnor Botanic Garden raised vital funds for the Ukraine Appeal after they held a series of fundraising events in June.
With the help of its members and visitors during their celebration week, they were able to raise £332.00, of which the Community Interest Company (CIC) has agreed to match the donation pound for pound, increasing the total raised to £664.00.
The donation will be passed through the DEC official appeal process, going directly to those in Ukraine who need the support the most.
Kai Davis, Marketing Manager, has said:
“Looking at what’s happening in the world right now, it only felt right to support the people of Ukraine during this incredibly difficult time.
“Thanks to all those who joined in with our special fundraising events and to all of the team who made this donation possible.”

Well, congratulations to the amazing Botanic Gardens, a wonderful way to celebrate their 50th birthday, and congratulations to everyone who helped raise the money, a really worthy cause. I haven’t given anything yet, but will tomorrow via Oxfam.
I think we are ALL paying the price for our support of Ukraine a country which few of us ever mentioned prior to Russia invading, but now, people act, with full BBC and media brainwashing as if ‘they’ are our best buddies and all lovely innocent people.
IF the boot on other foot how many would be supporting us?
Half are Russian and likely many are not as lovely as the media love to portray ‘the side’ it wants sympathy for for more hidden Government agendas.
I don’t wish war on anyone as we all feel pain and fear, but feel the US will use this European skirmish to cause full scale war in Europe to get it out of the fiscal mire
