A mindless vandal has been caught on camera throwing large stones at the windows of a popular Sandown seafront restaurant – smashing 3 large panes of glass in the process.
The shocking footage captured by CCTV at The Bandstand on Culver Parade shows a solo man make his way down towards the restaurant on the opposite side of the road, before throwing 3 large rocks at the large sliding windows. He then crosses the road, picks up one of the rocks that has already been thrown and proceeds to throw it once more, causing damage to a third window.
Bandstand owner, Paul, was alerted to the damage at shortly after 06:00 this morning (Thursday), with camera footage showing that the incident took place at around 04:08.
Shockingly, the man seen throwing the stones appears to be recording the incident on his own mobile phone.
The incident has been a needless setback for the small business with the damage costing over £2000 to repair.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:
“We were called at 8.38 yesterday morning (Thursday 22 July) to a report that some windows had been damaged between 04:05 and 04:10 at The Bandstand Restaurant on Culver Parade.
“This matter has currently been filed pending further lines of enquiry becoming available. Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams regularly note all reports within their areas, and if further lines of enquiry become available or if any similar reports are made then we will make enquiries to see if the investigation can be progressed.”
FFS…..mindless idiot. Cut his hands off then make him pay for the damage he has caused. Why would anyone do this. Any sane normal person wouldn’t. So disrespectful. This is the type of scum we now have in our society.

Guessing it’s late at night (restaurant closed) and he was unsteady on his feet, he will more than likely have been in the local bars. Check the bars cctv’s and ask bar staff if they know him. Mindless stupidity.
