Police, firefighters and paramedics are on scene on Brading Downs this afternoon (Monday) where a van has left the road and has come to rest on its roof.
The incident has occurred on Brading Down Road – to the west of the viewpoint carpark – and has involved a single vehicle travelling towards Brading.
Island Echo understands that the vehicle left the road and dug into the grass verge with the momentum of the impact forcing the vehicle onto its roof.
Pumping appliances from Ryde and Sandown are on scene, as are several resources from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. Emergency service personnel were first called at around 13:45.
Island Echo understands that the occupant of the vehicle has managed to self-extricate themselves from what is believed to be a Ford Transit Connect van. They have escaped with only minor injuries.
Brading Down Road is currently blocked whilst the incident is dealt with.
UPDATE @ 14:30 – The road has reopened with the vehicle left in situ at the side of the road.
All emergency service personnel present are beginning to stand down.
Opps going to fast/on phone?..or both.
Another stupid B’stard speeding
I have never know a place with NO Law and Order
and a useless Council
Install speed Camera’s and place speed humps to
STOP B’STARDS SPEEDING!!
Speed humps on the downs road? You muppet
Sure would be if I was responsible for
making our roads a safe place.
Have you seen the way Numpty’s speed along
the downs!.
It makes me wonder if these idiots were born
stupid, or it develops with age.
“Have you seen the way Numpty’s speed along
the downs!.”
I travel that road regularly,. & rarely, if ever see anyone bearking the speed limit.
You need to take a trip to Specsavers
Lol
He’s King Hump Numpty
Nothing wrong with trying to make our
Roads a safe place.
There are too many stupid Numpty’s speeding
around, maybe you are one of those stupid
Numpty’s.
You’re not trying to make our roads safer. You just love to rant and have a beyond weird obsession with the word numpty (usually grammatically incorrect). As for me? I wouldn’t give you the pleasure
do you know he was speeding ?
or is it just another of your assumptions?
you really do seem very obsessed, by speeding,. it really can’t be healthy to have such an obsession,.. perhaps you shopuld seek some help.
Speeding and drugs. Ironically
The Island is full of speeding numpty druggies
so sad.
20mph is the answer, it works well on the
mainland.
Shame the IDIOTS who run the island don’t
impose the same sensible rules, that is why
Island Numpty’s fear devolution, mainland
brains would impose Road safety.
“20mph is the answer, it works well on the
mainland.”
now who’s deluded…
can you actually name one place in the UK which has a 20mph speed limit on rural roads, away from any built-up area or schools…
Another case of the Isle of Wight phenomenon “parking upside down”
