Barriers and temporary traffic lights have been erected around an unsafe building in Ventnor this afternoon (Sunday).
The property on the corner of Maderia Road and Trinity Road has been deteriorating for sometime, but now fears are growing about the structural integrity of the building and the immediate risk it poses to the public.
A large section of concrete appears to be be cracked and about to drop to the floor, whilst other sections are being held up with scaffolding struts.
Local residents have expressed their frustration at the situation, which they say is resulting in delays to the resurfacing of Maderia Road.
Motorists can expect delays in the area with 3-way temporary traffic lights now operational. It is unclear how long they will remain in place for.
