TWO YOUTHS ARRESTED FOR VEHICLE BREAK-INS

policebacks400Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of theft following a spate of vehicle break-ins over the past month.

A 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy have both been arrested and bailed until March after Police received several reports of items being stolen from vehicles parked in the Wootton and Cowes areas over the past 4 weeks.

The incidents have prompted Police to remind drivers to ensure their unattended vehicles are locked and valuables are removed.

Sgt Gary Knight from Cowes Neighbourhood Policing Team said:

“In all of the cases reported to us the drivers have left their vehicles insecure. Please help us to keep your property safe by locking your vehicle and not leaving valuables on display.

“It only takes a minute to check and lock your vehicle before you leave it, doing this will help prevent you becoming a victim of vehicle crime.”
