Two people have been rescued from a vehicle they were travelling in after it became stuck while trying to pass a ford in Carisbrooke in this morning (Thursday).
Fire crews from Newport Fire Station were called to the scene at the junction of Spring Lane and Carisbrooke High Street shortly before 11:30, after receiving reports that a vehicle was stuck in the middle of a ford with two occupants inside.
The ford is signposted as closed.
A winch on the station’s Rescue Tender was used to drag the vehicle back to dry land, an operation lasting around 30 minutes.
