Trusted Homecare, an established homecare provider on the Isle of Wight, has officially opened its new Adult Day Community Care Centre at Branstone.
The ribbon cutting took place on Friday (11th July) with Dr Natalie Ryan PhD MRCP, Honorary Consultant Neurologist and Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the Dementia Research Centre, University College London, attending to mark the special occasion.
The Community Day Care Centre will specialise in supporting those experiencing social isolation, old age, mild to moderate dementia or Parkinson’s Disease. The centre aims to improve all aspects of attendees’ wellbeing through stimulating activities, music and companionship.
Abigail Wheeler, Director of Trusted Homecare, has said:
“The Community Day Care Centre is a wonderful opportunity for older adults to enjoy the company of others and reduce feelings of isolation.
“A lot of the people we already support are looking for companionship and this centre gives them just that.
“There are many family carers on the Isle of Wight who provide day-to-day care and feel they cannot leave their loved one alone, especially if they need medication at set times. This can lead to carer burnout, which we want to help prevent.
“The centre offers a comfortable, safe place where carers can bring their loved ones to be looked after by trained staff who understand their needs, giving carers much-needed respite.

Attendance can be self-funded or accessed through the Direct Payment Scheme from the Isle of Wight Council.
The centre itself has been entirely self-funded by Trusted Homecare and will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, offering flexible whole-day or half-day sessions.
The Adult Day Community Care Centre is located at Branstone Business Park, Stockmans Close, near Hale Common (PO36 0EQ).
