It has been confirmed that 3 Isle of Wight Council by-elections will take place on Thursday 1st May 2025 in the wards of Central Rural, Freshwater South and Lake North.
Nominations to stand in the 3 electoral divisions close at 16:00 on Wednesday 2nd April. Nomination packs can be downloaded here.
For anyone wishing to vote in these elections, the following dates are relevant:
- Register to vote: Friday 11th April
- To apply for a postal vote: Monday 14th April, 17:00
- To apply for free voter ID (Voter Authority Certificate): Wednesday 23rd April, 17:00

There are also Town, Parish & Community Council elections across the Island on Thursday 1st May and the same deadlines apply. Polling stations for all contested elections will be open from 07:00 to 20:00.
