The main road through Havenstreet has been closed in both directions this afternoon (Thursday) to enable Southern Water to carry out emergency repairs.
Water has been running down Main Road near the White Hart pub for several days, with the decision now taken to get repairs underway.
Motorists are being diverted via Firestone Copse in both directions.
This is likely to cause additional traffic flow on The Downs and through Wootton.
The whole Island is constantly experiencing water issues

Yea heaven forbid a builder would want paying for his hard work .unlike yourself who obviously works for free .

Builders put up houses when contracted to do so, they dont “plonk” up houses willy nilly as you imply..
And what that has to do with traffic congestion is baffling. Why do people think its ok to insult eachother all the time in these comments. Its so childish
