UPDATED: A track defect that requires urgent attention has resulted in the suspension of Island Line train services between Ryde and Shanklin this afternoon (Thursday).
Trains are not currently running between Ryde St John’s and Shanklin in either direction, however, trains are running between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde St John’s.
The emergency engineering works are expected to continue until at least the end of the day.
Tickets are being accepted on Southern Vectis bus services between Ryde and Shanklin.
UPDATE @ 14:51 – Island Line have advised that the defect has been resolved and trains are now running as normal.
